Bale Mountains National Park is one of Ethiopia’s most stunning and biodiverse natural reserves, located in the southeastern highlands. It offers incredible opportunities for wildlife viewing, trekking, birdwatching, and eco-tourism.

Harenna Forest – One of the few remaining cloud forests in Ethiopia, rich in biodiversity.
Web Valley – A prime area to spot wolves and other endemic wildlife.
Over 280 bird species, many endemic, such as the blue-winged goose and Abyssinian catbird.
Multi-day treks, horseback riding, and scenic hikes.
Camping in pristine nature, guided by local rangers.
November to March (dry season) is best for hiking and wildlife spotting.
Rainy season (April–October) can make some areas harder to access but offers lush green views.
By road from Addis Ababa via Shashamene and Dodola or Robe (~8–10 hours).
Domestic flights to Robe Airport (Bale Robe) from Addis Ababa, then drive to the park.
